The Korean skincare routine taught me that hydration is a very important factor in keeping the skin healthy and balanced. 

Compared to western toners, Korean toners are way milder and function as a hydrator and a pH regulator. Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Facial toner is exactly that. I'd say even more because I treat it almost like an essence.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

• Phyto-Oligo
  
  

Phyto-oligo is a skincare ingredient developed by a lab in Korea that specializes in the R&D of cosmetic ingredients from natural products. It is a mixture of hollyhock and aloe vera extract. The main property of this extract is to provide moisture.

• Wheat amino acids

This ingredient provide moisture but also provides soothing property by reducing skin inflammation.

• Centella Asiatica Extract

If you are into Korean beauty, you have probably heard it or even used a product based on this ingredient. Centella asiatica has a potent antioxidant property and skin-soothing abilities.

I am a personally an avid fan of this skincare ingredient.

• Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant. It hydrates the skin by drawing water from its surroundings.

• Beta Glucan

In skincare, beta glucans are used to soothe and calm irritated skin.

FORMULATION

It is a very well formulated product. It has a pH of 5 and it is packed with botanical extracts that soothes and hydrates the skin. And personally, the cherry on top is the lightweight feel of the product despite its consistency. It is viscous but does not feel heavy at all. 

Dear Klairs has formulated a version of this toner without essential oils that is suited for those people whose skin does not tolerate essential oils well.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

The toner has this fresh herby scent. It is a viscous liquid that gets absorbed easily by the skin after application. 

HOW I USE IT

I use it as a toner and also as an essence so I apply it in two layers. I do not use a cotton in applying it, I just use my hands to gently pat (not rub) the product on my face.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I love this product so much. It is a very simple product that does what it is supposed to do and that is the reason why I love it so much. No frills, just a really good toner. 

I love that despite it's viscosity, it does not feel tacky on the skin. I love how my skin just drinks it up when I apply it. I love how it is packed with botanical extracts that hydrates and soothes my skin. And I love how helpful it is in prepping my skin to better absorb the actives from my serums. 

If you want a step up to your skincare routine or your skin is feeling drier than the usual, this might just be the right product for you. I have been using this toner for about four years. It is one of my skincare staples and I highly recommend that you try this amazing product.
